Resize Partition

Clone disk

  • How can user clone a partition without image file? To clone disk is merely to copy data from one disk to another. This seemingly simple operation can not be finished with the operating system onboard disk management software. To clone disk here I would like to recommend user MiniTool Partition Wizard - a professional partition manager.

    Partition format:
Disk partition is available only after formatting and the partition formats generally include FAT(FAT16), FAT32, NTFS, ext2 and ext3.

    FAT32
File Allocation Table (FAT) is a computer file system architecture now widely used on many computer systems and most memory cards, such as those used with digital cameras. FAT file systems are commonly found on floppy disks, flash memory cards, digital cameras, and many other portable devices because of their relative simplicity. For floppy disks, the FAT has been standardized as ECMA-107 and ISO/IEC 9293. Those standards include only FAT12 and FAT16 without long filename support; long filenames with FAT is partially patented.
The FAT file system is relatively straightforward technically and is supported by virtually all existing operating systems for personal computers. This makes it a useful format for solid-state memory cards and a convenient way to share data between operating systems.

    NTFS
NTFS is featured by high safety and stability during the course of use. Additionally, user could set distinctive limitations to operation performed on the computer. NTFS now supports operating systems ranging from Windows NT, Windows 2000 to Windows Vista, Windows 7 and Windows 2008.
As I have recommended, user should utilize MiniTool Partition Wizard to clone disk whatever NTFS4, NTFS5, FAT12, FAT16 or FAT32. Furthermore, user could equally create partition, delete partition, format partition, wipe partition, merge partition, resize partition, copy partition, partition manager or convert file system with MiniTool Partition Wizard.

Above is the main interface of MiniTool Partition Wizard, here user could meet all partitions on computer and user should select desired partition and click "Copy Partition" to enter next step.

Now user should select unallocated space and copy partition to it, and then click "Next":

In this interface, user could compare the cloned partition with original partition. if it is correct, user should click "Finish" to end disk cloning.
This is merely a simple demonstration of functions of MiniTool Partition Wizard, for more detailed disk management information, please go to http://www.partitionwizard.com.
