It is common case to the user who usually use computer that they are informed of virtual memory insefficiency by operating system when you open several application programs or WebPages. Common solution to this problem is resetting the virtual memory of the operating system. Maybe users don't know another factor of these problems, namely, lack of system partition space. In that case, we have to consider resizing every disk partition. This operation must turn to partition magic, and I regard MiniTool Partition Wizard as a very professional partition magic. Before we learn its advantages, we should analyze whether the existing partition size of our computer is reasonable.
Reasonable analysis should be done before we resize partitions
To increase capability for partition with insufficient space, the space of other partition will be correspondingly reduced. The working theory of increasing partition capability with MiniTool Partition Wizard is to compress the low-utilization ratio partition, and distribute the redundant space to those partitions without sufficient space. As everybody knows, total capability of the disk space will never be changed. For example: A 50GB disk, which is partitioned into three areas, separately C partition, D partition, and E partition. If the capability of C partition is 8GB, with D partition having 30GB capability and E partition having12 GB capability, the capability of other two partitions must be reduced to increase the capability of C partition. Considering the capability of D partition and E partition, it's more reasonable to decrease the partition of D partition to increase the capability of C partition. So it's harmless to analyze capacity of every partition in the disk before our operations to find reasonable distribution solution, avoiding adding difficulty to partition management.
Reduce drive partition size with MiniTool Partition Wizard
As said above, there are various methods and tools to resize partition. Compared with other partition magic, MiniTool Partition Wizard has more powerful functions, easier operations, and it's free for individual and home users. I will use MiniTool Partition Wizard Edition v7.0 to show detailed demo about how to resize partition with MiniTool Partition Wizard. Firstly, we should visit official website of MiniTool Partition Wizard https://www.partitionwizard.com/ to download the software. After that, run it to enter below interface:
Now, we enter the main interface of MiniTool Partition Wizard, select H: partition which is to be resized. And then click mouse, select "Move/Resize" in the right shortcut menu to enter Move/Resize Partition interface. Similarly, after the partition is selected, click "Move/Resize partition" on the left, we can also enter next operation interface:
After entering this interface, we are informed to set the size and location of the partition. To decrease the partition size, resize the length of data bar in "Size And Location" area as the same as directly set partition capability in "Partition Size" area. After that, we can drag data bar left and right to set location of the partition. The completed partition is shown below: Note: user is recommended to check "Using Enhanced Data Protecting Mode" while resizing partition to lift data security.
This interface shows partition with complete adjustment, click "OK" to confirm settings.
Return to main interface of MiniTool Partition Wizard again, we can find differences from the primary one that an unallocated space appears in the disk, which is gained from compression to H: partition. So we can utilize the excess space to enlarge the partition without sufficient space, getting the effect of balanced utilization ratio of partition space. Hereon, please don't forget to click "Apply" to execute operations, actually realizing the disk status displayed on the interface.
