How to Add Nonadjacent Space to C Drive in Free Partitioning Software

  • Contents:

When C drive is running in low disk space, computer performance will be influenced to a large extent. For example, computer running speed may be reduced and Windows OS cannot update timely. At this time, if there is contiguous unallocated space on the right side of C, to add the space to it via “Extend Volume” feature in disk management utility is a quite good choice, and we believe many users can do it with ease (right click the target partition, choose “Extend Volume” feature, and extend C according to wizards). But what if the space is non contiguous? How to add non adjacent space to C drive? Since Windows Disk Management tool and diskpart can not do this, instead we are going to introducing a piece of free partitioning software in this post. It provides users with 2 functions to add non contiguous space to C drive. Next, let’s see detailed information.

How to Add non Adjacent Space to C Drive with MiniTool Partition Wizard

Firstly, launch the free partitioning software to get its booting interface and choose “Launch Application” to get the following main interface:

The main interface shows there is a partition between drive C and the unallocated space. To add the non contiguous space to C drive, users have 2 choices:

1: Move the unallocated space to be adjacent to C and then extend it: select D and choose “Move/Resize Partition” feature to get the following interface:

Here, the handle with 2 black triangles on each side represents drive D and the blank area is unallocated space. Please drag the handle rightwards to change the position between partition D and the unallocated space and then click “OK” to go back to the main interface:

Now we can see the unallocated space has been moved to be adjacent to drive C. At this time, users can apply the change and then extend C in Disk Management, and they can also extend C drive in Partition Wizard.

After these operations the problem how to add non adjacent space to C drive will be solved.

2: Extend drive C by taking free space from the nonadjacent space: select C and choose “Extend Partition” feature to get the interface shown below:

Then, choose the target unallocated space to borrow space and drag the sliding button to decide how much free space to borrow. After that, click “OK” button to go back to the main interface.

At last, click “Apply” button and MiniTool Partition Wizard will add the appointed non contiguous space to C drive automatically.

Are you troubled by how to add non adjacent space to C drive? Now make use of the free partitioning software to help you get rid of the problem.
