How to Run Windows 10 Emulator for Chromebook?

An emulator is a software that makes a computer system (host) behave like another computer system. The host system can run the software or use a peripheral device designed as a guest system by using an emulator.

Note: Not all Chromebook can use it; only Intel laptops can take advantage of the Crossover. You also need 550MB of storage and at least 2GB of RAM.

Step 1: Install Crossover for the Chrome Operating System.

  1. Go to Personal Profile Images > Settings > Menu > Google Play Store.
  2. Click the Activate option if it is not activated.
  3. Open Play Store on your Chromebook.
  4. Download Crossover from Google Play Store.

Step 2: Prepare for Windows Program Installation

The Crossover will automatically get the installation of some Windows software. However, in addition to most of the programs, it is best to download the offline installer for the specified program.

No matter what software you want to use, you can get a complete offline installer from its site. Then, save the downloaded installer in an easy-to-find location on your Chromebook.

Step 3: Install Windows Program on Chromebook

  1. Open the Crossover.
  2. Type the name of the desired application in the Search Application. The Crossover will suggest the name. Then click the Install on the right.
  3. Finally, once the entire process is complete, the installation starts really.

Step 4: Installing Unspecified Windows Programs on Chromebook

  1. Run the Crossover for the Chrome operating system.
  2. If the Crossover displays a name in the search box, install it, or when the Crossover does not find the desired application and prompt you, click the Installed unlisted application.
  3. Enter the name of the program you want to install, and then click the Select Installer.
  4. On the subsequent screen, open the folder of the offline installer. And then find the correct installer and click the Install.
  5. Finally, once the entire process is complete, the installation starts really.

Step 5: Run Windows Programs on Chromebook

  1. After installing the application, turn off and restart the Crossover.
  2. You will see your new program in the Installed Apps. When you click the program, you will see two options: Manage program or Launch program.
  3. Start the program to use the Windows application as a Chrome application.

After finishing the above steps, you can run Windows software on Chromebook by using an emulator called Crossover.
