Step 2: Find the System Settings icon on the HOME Menu of your device and tap it.

Step 3: Select the Other Settings to unfold more settings for the device.

Step 4: To factory reset Nintendo 3DS, tap the right arrow three times until you reach page four, and then tap Format System Memory.

Note: If your console is a New Nintendo 3DS, remember to tap four times until reaching page five.

Step 5: Tap OK when there is a notice asking whether you are ready to connect to the Internet or not.

Step 6: After several seconds, you will receive a warning. Tap Next. And then just tap Next again for another warning to continue the operation.

Step 7: Tap Format respectively on the next two sequential screens to carry out the operation.

The formatting will take some time depending on the amount of data saved in the console. After all the steps, you factory reset Nintendo 3DS successfully.
