How to Manage Your New Large Screen Laptop

After reading the top 7 large screen laptops, which one do you decide to buy? Don’t hurry to use your laptop once when you get your new laptop.

Usually, manufacturers will create only one available partition for new laptops, and it is used to install the operating system. However, for better management and increasing performance, it is wise to have more than one partition.

Therefore, you’d better repartition your new laptop before starting to store files. More specifically, you should shrink the system partition and create more partitions on your laptop.

As for the partition management tool, you can use Windows built-in tools such as Disk Management and Command Prompt, but they require some related knowledge to use. If you are not familiar with them, here I recommend a more easy-to-use program, MiniTool Partition Wizard.

MiniTool Partition Wizard is a professional and reliable partition manager available on various operating systems, including Windows XP/Vista/7/8/10/11 and Windows Server 2003/2008/2012/2016/2019.

With this tool, you can resize, move, create, delete, wipe, and recover partitions easily within a few clicks. Now, let’s see how to repartition your new large screen laptop with MiniTool Partition Wizard.

Step 1: Download MiniTool Partition Wizard on your laptop by clicking the following button. Then install and launch it.

Step 2: To protect your data while shrinking your system partition, you are recommended to create a bootable USB flash drive and boot your laptop from the USB drive with MiniTool Partition Wizard. Alternatively, you can also back up the system before shrinking it.

Step 3: When you get the main interface of MiniTool Partition Wizard, select the system partition and choose Move/Resize Partition in the left action panel.

Tip: Please note that the system partition might not be C drive in the bootable version, as all partitions including the system reserved partition will be assigned a drive letter. In this case, you can identify the target partition through the partition size.

Step 4: In the pop-up window, drag the slider to shrink the system partition and spare unallocated space. Then click OK.

Step 5: Select the spared unallocated space and click Create Partition from the left pane. In the pop-up window, specify the size and location for the new partition. Then click OK. If there is left unallocated space, repeat the operation to create more partitions.

Tip: If you are using an MBR disk, you can create up to four primary partitions or three primary partitions plus one extended partition. If you want to create more than 4 partitions, follow this post.

Step 6: Click Apply to keep the changes you have made.In the pop-up window, click Yes to start repartitioning your large screen laptop.

Once the process is finished, you can disconnect the USB drive and boot your laptop. Then you can use your new laptop without worries.
