Certainly You Can Split One GPT UEFI Partition to 2 with Ease
Scenario: several months ago I configured a PC with 1TB hard disk and UEFI motherboard. The hard disk was formatted to GPT and partitioned to 3 partitions, namely partition C (system partition) 500GB, partition D 300GB, and partition E 180GB. Since the system partition is so large that I want to split it to 2 relatively smaller partitions. Can I split GPT UEFI partition with Windows Disk Management? If can’t, what kind of tool should I employ? By the way, I’m using Windows 7.
Solution: so far, Windows Disk Management in all Windows operating systems does not provide a function to split partitions, and users should resort to third party partition manager freeware. Split GPT UEFI partition with MiniTool Partition Wizard
To use a third party program, users need to download and install it on computer at first, and MiniTool Partition Wizard is not an exception. After successful installation, run it to open the main window:
Then, select the partition which needs splitting and choose "Split Partition" from the left side.
Next, drag the sliding button boxed by red line to decide how much space will be split and then click on "OK" to go back to the main interface.
