Partition Size

• The size of the partition is restricted by the file system used. The older FAT 32 file system can support up to 2 TB with a minimum volume size of 512 MB, however, Windows XP can only format a FAT 32 volume of up to 32 GB. The newer NTFS file system can support volumes much larger than 2 TB and has a minimum volume size of 10 MB.
